The integration enhances Guidance endpoint detection and response products
PASADENA, Calif. – June 14, 2017 – Guidance Software, the makers of EnCase®, the gold standard in forensic security, today announced a partnership with Webroot, a market leader in threat intelligence, to provide BrightCloud® IP and File Reputation Services to Guidance customers via a direct integration into EnCase Endpoint Security. By embedding threat intelligence into its Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) products, Guidance customers can more rapidly detect hidden threats before they lead to a breach.
“Today’s complex threat landscape requires robust layers of security and intelligence,” said Anthony Di Bello, Senior Director of Products with Guidance. “Webroot’s cloud-based threat intelligence database and automated machine learning capabilities make them an excellent partner as we enhance our EDR offering.”
The partnership with Guidance Software represents Webroot’s first with an EDR vendor. Through this integration, Guidance will be able to gather new security insights to better secure customer networks and endpoints, as well as create effective policies to manage accessibility and risk tolerance.
Field-tested and court-proven, Guidance Software solutions are deployed on an estimated 35 million endpoints at more than 70 of the Fortune 100, as well as hundreds of agencies worldwide. Webroot’s BrightCloud® automated machine learning solutions are able to provide an additional layer of security to the EDR market by detecting new and unknown threats,” said Michael Neiswender, Vice President of OEM Sales with Webroot. “Both private sector and public sector organizations represent high-value targets for cybercriminals and we applaud Guidance Software’s decision to take the next step in assuring their customers are protected.”
