Mark J. Barrenechea

Vice Chair, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer, OpenText

Mark J. Barrenechea joined OpenText as President and Chief Executive Officer in January 2012, and also serves as a member of the Board. In January 2016, Mark took on the role of Chief Technology Officer. As CEO of Canada’s largest software company, Mark oversees the strategic direction of the organization and upholds the company’s position at the forefront of the industry. Under his direction, the Company has grown both organically and through strategic acquisitions, into a $1.9 billion technology company. Mark’s unwavering commitment to innovation and results, combined with a dedication to customers’ needs, led him to successfully realign the company’s products, transforming OpenText into an Enterprise Information Management leader. A prominent thought leader, Mark has extensive experience in information technology, which affords him a unique insight into the technological changes ushering in the fourth industrial revolution.
In his latest book, The Golden Age of Innovation, he identifies the opportunity this unprecedented change holds for today’s businesses and how to successfully maneuver the ever-changing digital world. Mark has been the recipient of many accolades over the years. In 2011, the San Francisco Business Times named him the 2011 Best Large Company CEO. Most recently, he was named the 2015 Results-Oriented CEO of the year by the CEO World Awards. The prestigious award recognizes Mark’s leadership and innovation in attaining results for the company and its customers. In addition, Mark has authored several books including The Golden Age of Innovation, On Digital, Digital: Disrupt or Die, eGovernment or Out of Government, Enterprise Information Management: The Next Generation of Enterprise Software, Software Rules and e-Business or out of Business. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Saint Michael’s College. He currently serves as a member of the Board and Audit Committee of Dick’s Sporting Goods and also serves as a board member of Hamilton Insurance Group. James Comey

Director, FBI (2013–2017)

James Comey led the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 2013 to 2017, appointed to the post by President Barack Obama. His tenure was tested by new forces within and outside America’s borders. He oversaw the federal response to mass shootings in San Bernardino in December 2015 and at Pulse nightclub in Orlando the following June, at the time the deadliest in the country’s history. He also worked to address key leadership, agility and diversity issues within the Bureau.

Prior to his service at the FBI, Comey worked as a federal prosecutor in New York and Virginia as well as US attorney for the Southern District of New York and the US deputy attorney general in the administration of President George W. Bush. In the private sector, he has worked at law firms and as the general counsel of Lockheed Martin, the world’s largest defense contractor, and Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest hedge fund.

Comey is the 2017–2018 Gwendolyn S. and Colbert I. King Endowed Chair in Public Policy at Howard University. He has been an adjunct professor at the University of Richmond School of Law and a Hertog Fellow in National Security Law at Columbia Law School.

A native of the New York metropolitan area, Comey attended the College of William & Mary and the University of Chicago Law School. He and his wife Patrice have five children and live in northern Virginia.

Gary Weiss

Senior Vice President, General Manager Security, Discovery and Analytics, OpenText

In 2016, Gary Weiss was named Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Discovery and Analytics business unit, where his responsibilities include P&L, strategy, execution, operations and go-to-market. Gary joined OpenText in 2012 as the SVP and GM of the Information Exchange business unit, the catalyst for the OpenText Cloud business. In this capacity, he was responsible for the P&L, strategy, sales, marketing and product development. Gary then held the Cloud leadership role for two years.

Gary has 25 years of world-class experience that spans multiple disciplines, including enterprise sales, partnerships, strategic alliances, marketing, product management, operations and development.
Prior to joining OpenText, Gary served as SVP, Business Development and Alliances and was a member of the Senior Leadership team at CA until June 2011. During his tenure at CA, he developed the company's partnership strategy and had oversight of high-value, strategic partnerships. He also provided leadership for market development initiatives, including formulating and executing on portfolio product strategies and, in an earlier role, he assumed revenue responsibility for the newly created Security Business Unit.

Gary has also worked as an independent consultant to small- to mid-size security organizations for many years, using his sales executive and program innovation experience to earn a reputation as a trusted advisor and thought leader.

Gary began his career in Information Technology in 1993 as one of the first sales executives at Security Dynamics (later renamed RSA Security) before joining e-Security in 2001 to lead the North American Sales, Channel, and Technology Services.

Gary holds a B.A. from Tulane University.
