Credit Card Number Search With Luhn Verification

This script finds credit card numbers which are valid according to the Luhn test.

Identifying valid credit card numbers using GREP is not an exact science. The search-terms included in the script are meant as examples only; they should be validated by the examiner with additional search terms being used as and when necessary.

Records are searched in addition to entries. This may lead to duplicate hits.

Notwithstanding that the script performs a raw search by default, it can also perform a transcript search of files matching the condition specified by the user. This is necessary when searching compressed file-types, e.g. PDF, DOCX, or XLSX files. Indexing is not required to use this option.

Please note that the script does not support optical character recognition (OCR).

Settings are remembered by the script for subsequent re-use.
